An assessment and rating system from the Green Building Initiative (GBI)
The Green Globes™ assessment and rating system, owned and operated by the Green Building Initiative, is an alternative to the more commonly known LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) system, which is owned and operated by US Green Building Council (USGBC).
This web-based green building performance tool generates numerical assessment scores during the schematic design and construction document phases and, unlike LEED, does not hold projects accountable for strategies that are not applicable to the project. Projects are assigned a rating of one to four Green Globes based on the percentage of applicable points they have achieved.
At Comfort Systems USA Energy Services, we believe that sustainable construction and reduced environmental impact are more than just a trend; they are good business and prudent ways to reduce the impact we have on the planet. We define "Green" or Sustainability simply:
"Green is how we live, work and build through intentional actions to preserve natural resources for future generations."
As building owners are discovering, building or renovating to the Green Globes system ensures efficiencies that result in cost savings over the life of the building. CSUSA Energy Services has developed an in-depth understanding of the GBI Green Globes assessment and rating system.
